​Please note that you child’s level should primarily be based on their technical level, rather than the colour runs they have been on.​

Bronze:

• Level 3: Linked turns starting in snow plough finishing in a parallel. Green runs and easy blues.

• Level 4: Relying less on the snow plough as the skis become more parallel. The skis are not yet completely parallel. Blue runs.

Silver:

• Level 5: Skis are now turning parallel without any sign of a snowplough. You can control speed through skidding. You are still working to improve your posture. Your turns aren’t as smooth or rounded as you’d like. Blue and easy red.

• Level 6: You will learn to use the pole plant to aid balance and timing. Your turns are much smoother, a ‘S’ shaped rather than ‘Z’ shaped. Red runs.

Gold:

• Level 7: Your parallel turns are becoming more versatile. You are skiing rounded ‘S’ shape turns of varying radii always with a pole plant. You are able to control speed through turn shape. Ski with confidence in uneven, soft, cut up snow. Technically things are all falling into place. Steep red runs and easier blacks.

• Level 8: Ski full parallel skiing on all groomed slopes, showing good posture and pole plant. You can control speed on a steep narrow corridor. On gentle terrain you can ‘carve’ using only the shape of the ski to change direction. You are starting to ski small bump runs. Reds, all blacks and bump runs.

Gold+:

• Level 9: You will now ski more challenging bump runs. You will link rhythmical turns in fresh snow and ski with confidence in uneven, soft, cut up snow. Technically things are all falling into place.
